What happened to the data / fax / voice / speakerphone modems?
I want to setup voice mail (answering machine phone with notification to the cell when my msg is left) on my PC running Windows XP. All data / fax / voice / speakerphone modems seem to be discontinued; or permanently out of stock. Is there a new modem / device that supports analog voice and full duplex speakerphone capabilities? I can not believe that there is no need to whole business of the Home Office happening now. I looked at a dozen sites for 6 or 7 different modems with no luck Thanks. What am I missing here? the suggestion from Newegg.com. They have 3 of them. However, they are quit old (serial cables, etc.). I was expecting USB plug & play. How come no new technologies? I also realize that Blackice is lowering their voice development tools in 2008. Will I buy a BATAMAX?
You can still get them. Most are internal cards that plug into an expansion slot or external connected via USB. I'm still using a USR Courier v.everything I connect through A serial port (old school). If you are looking for an internal card, check out a site like newegg.com for something like a Creative Modem Blaster.
